Designer moved away from the traditional Dumbbel form so that it can act as an object, and as a result, it can be used as an exhibition, not just as an exercise device, to give visual beauty. Of course it is also practical. It's easy to control weight compared to conventional dumbbells. It is shaped like a twig, so it can be used as a push-up bar, etc.
